About us

Matt is an experienced bartender with an extensive knowledge of whiskey. After bartending for only 8 months, he placed first in St. Augustine Regional Dalmore Competition and went on to win the finals. Now bartending for over 4 years, his passion not only lies in creating beautiful libations but also teaching cocktail and spirit classes. Matt is an Executive Bourbon Steward, certified to teach the “Official Bourbon Education Course” recognized by the Kentucky Distillers Association.

We are a fun loving couple that have spent many years behind the stick at some of the best cocktail bars in St Augustine, Fl. With a passion for flavors and always down to have a good time, we pride ourselves in delivering some of the best and most unique cocktails to fit you. Always using fresh and natural ingredients, we are huge supporters of local businesses. At McKarls, we offer a free consultation to help determine what would best work for you and your event. After spending a few years working and learning at The Ice Plant in St. Augustine, we have been able to create a system that works best for us to create beautiful, clear ice to serve with our cocktails.

Expanding our knowledge and skills is a constant goal for us. We stay up to date on the hottest trends and keep up with the newest information available regarding our craft. The team at McKarl’s are certified Whiskey Stewards and are working hard to achieve more certifications to add to the experiences we give you.  

Sarah started her bartending career in the heart of downtown St. Augustine Florida where she studied craft culinary and cocktails for over 8 years. At the beginning of 2020 she was honored to make the list of World Class top 100 Bartenders in the U.S. She continues to challenge herself by trying new recipes any chance she gets.
